If you find it lacking, and you use it, you need to submit patches to
improve it, or you need to hire someone to do so. This is open source
software. Everything is a work in progress, and I don't have time to spend
on everything in Horde anymore. People need to step up.

This is all bull. There is currently not an LDAP categories backend; that
much is true. But it does NOT MATTER what auth backend you use; groups and
permissions will work anyway. Of course user admin is dependent on your user
backend.
