I want to upgrade my system from Red Hat 7.2 to Red Hat 9.0,
since 7.2 goes out of support at the end of this year. I am
having trouble installing the existing horde RPMs due to
various dependencies. Before I try compiling from the tarballs,
can anyone confirm whether or not horde will even work on Red
Hat 9.0?
On my Red Hat 7.2 system, I am using:
from http://ftp.horde.org/pub/RPMS/noarch/rh7/
Horde 2.1
Imp 3.1
Kronolith 1.0
Mnemo 1.0
Nag 1.0
Turba 1.1
from http://ftp.horde.org/pub/RPMS/i386/rh7/old/
php-4.1.2-0horde1
php-imap-4.1.2-0horde1
php-manual-4.1.2-0horde1
php-mcal-4.1.2-0horde1
php-mysql-4.1.2-0horde1
mcal-0.7cvs-0horde0
These php packages, or the newer ones in
http://ftp.horde.org/pub/RPMS/i386/rh7/, fail to install due to
the missing dependency 'db3'. Red Hat 9 provides db4 instead.
The Horde, Imp, Kronolith, Mnemo, Nag, and Turba require the
package "apache" which in Red Hat 9 has been renamed to "httpd"
and provides Apache 2.0.
Has anyone tried building all this on Red Hat 9?
Does anyone know if it will work, or if it will require a lot of modification?
Thanks in advance for any comments and/or suggestions.
