Hmm. You will for sure need imap/notls then. But if you are already
using that, then no real idea. If you were using ssl and the default
certificate, that would require another switch. But if you are not using
ssl, and using /notls, then you should be set as far as protocol goes.

Check you system logs. Check /var/log/messages and see if there is anything
in there from your imap server, or from tcp_wrappers, etc. Also check your
/var/log/maillog for imap server messages.
Some possible problems would be:
* imap server not running
* tcp_wrappers blocking connections
* ipchains/iptables blocking connections
If you have a recent horde/imp you can try the test logins on the
horde/test.php and horde/imp/test.php pages and see what they say.
There info would be useful here.
