[horde] External Authentication and Horde/IMP

Howdy

It is possible to creat an external authentication mechanism that 
determines where your mailbox is.

We will be in the unenviable position of having to supply 5 different 
mailstores for our user community.
The powers that be woul like a single mechanism of login/password - that 
would then determine what
the mailbox would be based on a DB lookup - likely to an Oracle DB.
This effectively replaces the servers.php file or at leats adds an 
additional step - pull back the information.

Has anyone done this? Or does the idea not have merit in light of the 
fact that another server stanza can be added
easily.
