First of all, ask such questions on the mailing list.

And then, apply the patch to 3.0.10 reverse, and then the patch to  
3.1, and then to 3.1.1.
But I suggest you make a fresh install of 3.1.1 instead, because you  
would miss some things that can't be patched otherwise, like images or  
translations.
