No.

Because code changes. You have probably hit an error in the PHP  
documention, so one has to check the PHP sources and see if the manual  
is correct; if not, report a bug at the php bug tracker. Then someone  
has to fix the code in IMP.

Sure: use released versions, period. Running development versions is  
nothing you should try if you are new to any system.

And please report a bug to http://bugs.horde.org, so that at least it  
doesn't get lost.
