[horde] Login problems with Horde/IMP

I've had what seems to be the same problem with Horde 3.1.2 and Imp 4.1.2. I
didn't check the logs extensively, just horde.log, but the symptoms are
exactly the same. Due to time constraints, I decided to try Horde 3.1.1 and
Imp 4.1.1, they worked without a glitch.

Another problem, that probably has the same cause, is that when doing the
Horde configuration, and selecting Imp as the authentication provider, it
immediately logs you out after clicking 'generate horde configuration'.

Without generating the horde configuration, I went to domain.tld/mail/imp/,
and I could log in fine. It showed me the Inbox of the user I logged in as.
As soon as the config/conf.php for horde was generated, that stopped
working.

Hi all,

Yesterday I'we installed fresh copy of Horde from yesterday's cvs
snapshots. Framework, Horde and IMP. Everything went fine, up to
the point where I should log in to the server. Situation is like this:
When I enter incorrect user credentials I get a message that it is not
correct. But when entering correct username and password I land in
the same login page, but without any message at all. In log files I see
as follows:
in apache error log there is nothing.
in systems auth log there is nothing, but I see that connections to IMAP
were made.
server's mail log:

When entering incorrect username and password pair I get as follows:

those lines are repeated like 20 times.
In system's mail log I see:

host=server.com 
[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
repeated same 20 times

In system's auth log:
Jul 20 09:10:17 server imapd[19068]: Login failed user=baduser auth=baduser 
host=server.com [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
also repeated.

System:
Slackware current, patched(adapted patch from wiki) UW-IMAP, slack's
standard 
php with aded pear extensions. php 4.4.2. apache 1.3
