[horde] Problem with spell check and Safari

Currently running Horde-3.2 and imp-h3-4.2 on Redhat Linux 4. Spelling  
parameter in /horde/imp/config/conf.php:
conf.php:$conf['spell']['path'] = '/usr/bin/aspell';
conf.php:$conf['spell']['driver'] = 'aspell';

Using Firefox or IE, the spell check works fine. When using Safari,  
the spell check wipes out the text of the message.

On Safari:
compose a messages
click on Check Spelling
After document is checked, click "Resume Edit"
The text of the message disappears from the compose window leaving the  
only the signature intact.

Does anyone know a work around?
