[horde] Problems with XML

Hello,
 
before my server was hacked and I had to reinstall it, I was using Horde and
I really enjoyed doing so. Now after reinstalling my webserver I tried to
reinstall, but I am getting an error message when I try to configure it. It
says:
 

You need the domxml or dom PHP extension to use the configuration tool.

 
So there seems to be a problem with my xml installation. My question: can I
use Horde anyway?

Horde Version: 3.1.4
PHP-Version: 4.3.10-19
 
I asked a lot of people before I sent this mail and I also asked google with
no result.
