[horde] authenticating horde using LDAP

Asslam-o-Alaikum
I am using "IMAP authenticaiton" or i "let an horde application to handle the authentication" and select "imp" in application. this works fine for me. but I want to use LDAP authentication for my horde setup. I provide correct dn for my setup "dc=abc,dc=cde,c=uk" .I leave  optional fields empty.  I have doubt in user search  key . what it should be( actually i could not understand this entity)please explain this.
when I generate the configuration and try to log in , the error message I get is "empty result".
why I am getting this error?
