wow that's good advice. i must have missed this..... very nice. thanx.

therefore if i choose mysql as an authentication backend, horde should be able to handle the user administration. i m just wondering how i missed this.

 Marco:

If you choose one of the mentioned user's authentication backend, then
horde already has an interface to manage the users under Administration
> Users.

All you need to do is tell horde which backend you have under
administration > configuration > horde > authentication.

Regards.

Luis, with regards to to creating email users, if i understand u correctly, you are suggesting that i configure dovecot / postfix to read accounts of a mysql (or ldap ) backend . Therefore i just need to create a form ( in php) to add/edit the user info into the mysql backend.?

Hope others on the list can chip in on this.

Regards, marco.

Guys,

I am tinkering with Horde Groupware webmail Edition. My boss wants to get rid

of the exchange box in the office.

We hav one new server( Server B) with more storage and and older server.(

Server A)

What i would like to do is to install the Groupware in Server A but put

postfix and courier in Server B.

1. Do i need to install the groupware on server B too? Or do i just modify the

webmail interface so that its pointing to server B.

You can do the pointing configuration to server B. The file
imp/config/servers.php might be what you´re looking for.

2. Also how do i ceate the email accounts in postfix and courier? DO i have

to use openmailadmin?
If I´m not mistaken, dovecot can deal with unix users, ldap and even mysql
stored users. I don´t know about courier.

Sorry i m a little confused. Any pointers will be much appreciated.

Marco.
