Thanks Jan...

I'm looking to be able to set certain prefs globally, and the behavior I've seen is that once they're created the defaults in prefs.php have no effect.  So looking for an alternative way to do it.  Since our prefs are in LDAP, this gives a resonable method via scripting to push our settings out to user accounts.

If you have any simpler methods, I'd sure love to hear about them...
