Ok,
If i understand right updating of ingo does not affect any existing (user) SIEVE scripts at the LDA as long as they did not "update" it by rewriting by a save within ingo after an ingo update.

This should mean that old scripts are working further even after an ("incompatible") ingo update. If a user edit his rules, the scripts get updated in the "new version" automatically. So there should be no requirement for any urgent script update by the users and ingo updates should go transparent for users. Or did i see something wrong here?

One main problem persist that afaik users usually can't use different SIEVE compliant editing clients alternatively to read / edit all their SIEVE scripts - but this is afaik a SIEVE thing. Most SIEVE clients iv'e seen did their own thing and just write rendered scripts into the account (and point to it). It would be nice if something would change here in general as more interoperability between clients could give SIEVE a major push forward (i.e. getting broader into IMAP Clients).

Just my two cents,

Niels.
