Actually  it  is  the  other  way  around;  RPM  is  terrible  for web
applications.

If   you   need   to   build  RPMs  from  PEAR  packages  check  'pear
make-rpm-spec' command. Another good source http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/PHP
