[horde] Upgrade to Horde4, or stay with 3?

Hi all,
I don't like this type of discussion, since such normally don't lead
anywhere useful. Nevertheless I feel necessary to give my 2 cents:
First of all, for me PEAR is alright, and even more, is the easier way
in my opinion. I say this despite of the fact that before horde 4 I have
done almost nothing using PEAR and had to understand the concept from
scratch.
But there is one thing about support I am a bit disappointed, too.
I admire all of the horde developers' commitment and the hours of
free-time they put into this. But my understanding is, that providing
such a software package is inherently connected with solving problems
about it.
In the short time I am on this list, I have posted some requests and got
answers to most of them. But not one of my problems could be solved this
way. I understand my problems are not trivial, but I am willing to
contribute any type of information or test neccessary to minimize time
effort for the answerer. All of my requests about unsolved problems
where not answered further on some point of the discussion. I cannot
investigate further on my own, since I do not understand most of the
concepts and call-structures on the first glance and have not the time
to invest much deeper without a hint on where to look.
>From my point of view, I do not request "make-up" and finetuning kind of
things on this list, since I do understand you have more pressing
issues, but the things I ask here to be resolved are preventing to
deploy horde 4 productively on my site. I need them to be resolved.
Could you please answer my questions of the past few weeks?
I hope you can understand my feelings about this.
Thank you for your work and help.
Stephan
