[horde] Resolve pear too old on Redhat 5

Redhat has a bug report requesting a newer pear for php53.
Looking at the release notes for beta Redhat 5.7 updates, nothing is
there for php
so I can't hope for newer packages from Redhat soon.

With php53, on Redhat 5.6, I see this when attempting to install:

I have not found a way to successfully upgrade pear to newer from pear or pecl.

Is installing Pear from source my only option or am I missing something?
