[horde] Help for horde 4 installation

Hi, Ralf,
Thank you so much, that I get horde 4 working. I also installed imp 5.
If the mailbox has less emails, imp 5 runs good. But I have one user who has more than 2000 emails in the inbox. IMP 5 takes forever to load the emails (never finish). It behaves different from imp 4, which will load the first page only. How to configure imp5 behaving the same as imp4 regarding to this issue?
Also, ansel.git seems not showing on the left frame, because website menu did not show.
Thanks again,
Howard You

That's not sufficient, if /usr/share/pear/www/horde is not your apache's horde
vhost

You need to follow instructions more closely.
If /usr/share/pear/www/horde is not the right location,
1) drop all packages from the horde channel but Role
2) run the pear command I told you last mail for the right directory
3) install horde/horde again. Using pear install --alldeps horde/horde may or
may not be what you really want.

But not into the PEAR directory that Horde uses.

Hi, Ralf,
How to show the horde packages in the system?
I run pear list, that shows only pear packages.
I only uninstall imp and horde (pear uninstall horde/imp, pear uninstall horde/horde).
I reinstall pear install horde/horde. The result is same. There must be some old horde packages not uninstalled, so that the new one will not be installed.
Thanks,
Howard You

Hi Howard,
the list normally is the better address.
The pear config looks about right.
You really intend /usr/share/pear/www/horde to be your horde directory (where
apache has its document root)?
If not, uninstall all horde packages but Role, manually run
pear config-set horde_dir /somewhere systems
and start installation again.

Yup. And I uninstalled php5-suhosin and restarted Apache (not necessarily because I thought that was an issue, but it cropped up when I was editing in Turba and I remembered it's not supposed to be there.. The point is, I removed the weather.com stuff from the config.
That's what you meant, right? How would I remove the weather block from the portal? The only portal block I told Horde to load was Account Information.
Thanks.

mail:~# pear install Services_Weather-1.4.5
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20090626/suhosin.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20090626/suhosin.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
pear/Services_Weather is already installed and is the same as the released version 1.4.5

Then how do I do that? Shouldn't that be done automatically? Did I miss an instruction in the INSTALL docs?

Un-luckily, it appears we to hide it too well, and people don't even
notice that the option is there... So we need to find a way that it
is obvious that there is an option, but also no-obtrusive at the same
time.
> And as I and others have demonstrated, there is no reply to all "problem".
Yes, there is...
> You continually ignore the fact that we DO NOT ALLOW AUTOMATIC REPLY

If people don't see the option to change the default, and don't understand
the warning (both have been pointed out on the list as issues) then
there is a problem. Maybe it is just icon/font size, maybe it is
poor positioning, maybe it is color, who knows. But there is a problem.
> You never mention this. Your argument /seems/ to be (since it is

They may ignore them, or they may never see them (that is not the same
as ignoring them), or they may click on the wrong thing thinking they
are clicking on the correct thing. So we have at least three complaints
here. You can chuck the "ignore" argument if you want, but that still
leaves two more valid arguments about the UI design.

Correct.

No, this is a real threat, not a hypothetical. The fact that it occurs
rarely doesn't dismiss it from being a problem.

Thanks! Just shows that constructive comments do actually make a difference,
and that rants are rightly ignored (at least as far as making changes, though
not neccessarily as far as e-mail threads go).

To the best of my knowledge, Horde doesn't use a separate PEAR directory. At least, I never told it to.
