Postfix was created by IBM and didn't change much since then.
Just like SMTP protocol.
Have you tried migrating from Linux kernel 2.4 to 2.6? Or even from
2.2 to 2.4? How much developers do they have? Do you know that Linux
kernel development is constantly sponsored by commercial contributors
with a sums exceeding 1 billion dollars? I'm sure Horde developers
would help you to adapt your update infrastructure even for fraction
of that.
