[horde] Pre-assessing Before Installation

I'm starting from scratch, with no legacy users, systems, apps, etc. to
concern with and I'm doing some planning (lots of) before performing any
installation.  The system needs to handle several thousand accounts, with
room to expand if need be.

What are some recommendations for file systems layout?  Do user's data
requires to be in /var, /home, or some directory that requires its own file
system?  Can mail, calendar, note, attachments, multi-media, other plugins,
etc. exists on the same server or multiple servers are required.  Are there
any docs/wiki on how Horde applications function (not installation wiki) or
how data is managed, or flowchart, etc.?
