Horde is known to run fine with SSL under debian, openSUSE and SLES 11
SP2 (rpm packages exist on build.opensuse.org)
I doubt it is an ubuntu problem. I remember from IRC chat that somehow
your horde_dir did not point to your web accessible directory.
