Shouldn't this be <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge"  
/> ?  I believe this translates to "use the most advanced rendering  
mode the browser supports".  So that IE10, for example, would use the  
IE10 engine, not fallback to IE9.
