[horde] IMAP connection initiated for every click in the user interface

Hi,

We're running the latest Horde 5.0.4 with IMP 6.0.4 in a test
environment and we're trying to track down possible performance issues.
So far I've seen the following behaviour: every time the logged in user
clicks anything in the webmail, even when it's not directly related to
the email part at all, horde connects to the memcache server, the to
the IMAP one, then back to the memcache server. While I completely
understand the necessity of connecting to memcached, I'm questioning
the connections to the IMAP server.
If it help, in my mail account I have "New Mail -> Poll for New Mail"
set to "Every 5 minutes".
Where I can read more about the above and how can we tweak Horde to
reduce the number of IMAP connections? What settings should I look at
and what related information do you need me to post?
