What about the applications that don't have a 100% complete feature  
set in the dynamic view? We can't simply merge the two view modes into  
a Desktop mode. I'm all for reducing our workload by not having to  
maintain extra views, and if you feel that IMP is 100% feature  
complete in dynamic mode then great, remove the basic view (though I  
have a feeling this will make some not-insignificant-amount of users  
unhappy). What we *can't* do, though, is get rid of the ability to  
choose between the dynamic and basic modes for those applications that  
haven't been fully ported.
