(I think my original answer via Gmane is missing in action, I hope
this does not end up as a double posting)

I use PEAR 1.10.1 which I think is the latest version and
compatible. It is not that PEAR doesn´t work at all after upgrading to
PHP 7. It just generates weird SNMP errors and looses all installed
packages. I can reinstall the packages and they will show up in the
listing of installed packages in PEAR but not in the horde config
page. The installed pear channels will stay. Somehow I think some
stuff of the old PEAR config is taken over and leaves PEAR in an
inconsistant state. But I do not dare to wipe PEAR completely and
reinstall it from scratch. And I haven´t found a guide yet how to
smoothly transfer PEAR with a repository for PHP 5 to PHP 7 (even if
it means reinstalling all packages).
