[horde] Horde Cache intermittently filling

I have Horde (Groupware Webmail Edition 5.2.22) configured to use
filesystem caching, where the cached filesystem is on TMPFS for
performance reasons.

Typically the cache consumes around 25MB (+/- 5MB), but every once in
a while (say, once every couple of months) cache usage spikes and
fills the 256MB TMPFS volume.

As a mitigation measure I've doubled the size of the TMPFS volume to
512MB, but is there some configuration item or problem I should be
looking at, or a guideline for setting typical/max cache size?
