Hello, Eric, Jan, and Chuck
As you know, I am trying to fix up the Japanese translation
of Horde.
HUB.ORG was able to set up a good test/work environment for me
this past week. At $9.99 per month, they were able to give
me my own Virtual Machine with my own copy of Horde CVS/HEAD,
updated on July 30 by HUB.ORG's Marc Fournier. All the
downloading and installing....all done for me at no additional charge!
All I need to do is look in my own /usr/local/www/webmail
directory and search for ja_JP.po files everywhere. Then
just fix them up, compile them, look them over and send them to you.
I'm ready to go!
I noticed that your **_**.po files are each an alphabetical
list of translated words from English to a foreign language.
I COULD just look at a more complete translation, such as
French or Taiwanese, and mimic them.
But according to your docs (horde/docs/TRANSLATIONS?r=1.3.2.2),
GNU gettext is supposed to automatically point out the untranslated
portions? Can you please tell us where I can download this GETTEXT ?
I don't think you provided any links for downloading it within your
documentations.
About the current Japanese translation, I don't think any Japanese
speaking human being can seriously use it. (sorry for my language here).
For example, messages marked "Personal" are marked "Address Book"
in Japanese. "Send Message" is translated into "Messages Already Sent".
That's nonsense. I'm surprised that the Taiwanese translation is up to date,
but the Japanese translation is virtually abandoned right now.
Let's fix it. I'll do it.
First, please tell me more about GETTEXT and its download location, and
I'll get working on it. Thank you very much.
