undefined func mysql_pconnect

I just upgraded to the latest stable versin of IMP.

When I try to log in, I get this error

Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function mysql_pconnect()
in ./lib/db.lib on line 213

I have these RPMs installed below.

php-3.0.16-1
php-imap-3.0.16-1
php-mysql-3.0.16-5horde7
mod-php-3.0.16-1rwm

Is one of these wrong?

I ran the impsetup.pl script to config with Mysql.

All the Mysql RPM are installed and the deamon is running too.

Any ideas why it can't find the php-mysql libraries? Am I missing
something in httpd.conf?

I could try putting in place all horde RPM versions only, but it seems
to me that I tried that once already, and that this should work?

TIA,

Mike C
