I ran into the same problem and found a solution. I read the wv docs. 
The name of their product is now wvWare. If you look at the contents of 
wvHtml you will find it contains a reference to wvWare:
/usr/local/bin/wvWare -x /usr/local/lib/wv/wvHtml.xml
The script wvHtml is requiring two parameters. I read about someone 
fixing the script wvHtml and not changing their defaults.php3 file. I 
prefer to put that whole line for my path_to_mswordview
