Hello,

I installed IMP 2.2.3 today from the official
Debian v2.2r2 CD's.

IMP is setup to use PHP3 (ver 3.0.18) with PostgreSQL.

Everything seems to work fine except for:

1) In IE 5.5 I cannot save file attachments.
IE saves a ".exe" file as "webmail4.vo[1].htm"
or "index.htm" with the size og 1KB.
(webmail4.vo.lu is the DNS name of my IMP test system)

Same problem with other file types like .xls files.

In Netscape I can save this attachments correctly.

I can reproduce the same behavior on both of the
test systems provided at:

http://demo.horde.org/stable/horde/imp/
http://demo.uk.horde.org/devel/horde/imp/login.php

The mailserver I read the messages from is
PostOffice v.3.5.3 from Software.com.
I use POP3.

I also see every attachment twice in IMP with
2 different types like:

multipart/mixed
application/vnd.ms-excel

Can this be avoided?

I searched the archieves for this problem but couldn't
fine a solution.

2) Spell checking doesn't seem to work for me. I can type
any kind of stupid text an I always get the message
"No Spelling Errors."

Christian

Hopefully we are now near the end of this issue. IMP 2.3 (yes, cvs) will now,
with the changes I made just now to PEAR, Horde, and IMP, parse the above line
and deliver the message to all of the recipients correctly. We still munge the
header a bit in the process (the group is currently lost); that'll just take a
bit more work.

Also in IMP 2.3, if a user types:

foo@bar.com; bar@foo.com
or
foo@bar.com bar@foo.com

Commas will be inserted/semicolons turned to commas. This magic is ONLY done if
there are no angle brackets (<>) or colons (: - as in my-quilting-buddies: ) in
the address string. If either of those are found, we assume the user knows
better and try and parse exactly what they said.

And before anyone asks, no, I will not be porting any of this to 2.2. Too much
of it depends on PEAR.

At least the second problem, and probably the first as well, will go away if
you use an IMAP server. POP simply isn't meant to handle attachments as being
anything other than an arbitrary chunk of a message.

I have not because I don't understand enough about why it isn't working to
describe it on the bug report. Please do report it if you can.
