I think any large UI changes, such as this one, should probably wait
until the next development cycle, though.  I think we should start
focusing on making IMP 2.3 into a stable IMP 2.4, create an IMP 2.5
development branch, and then start adding nifty stuff like this.

Fair enough. Let's see what the patch looks like, at least, and what it's going 
to be like maintenance-wise, but if it's anything big, it can wait.
