I was thinking about this last night some.  I was also thinking about how a
number of users wouldn't even understand what a pixel was.  I came to the
conclusion in my mind that the most imp-like solution to this problem was to
have a defaults.php setting which was "allow-advanced-customizations", or
something like that, where if it was set to true, then there would be an
'advanced preferences' section which the user could turn on or off to see these
things which were a part of the advanced settings.

Even better would be a way to store whether or not a user was advanced in the
databases, so that I could have all of my users be novice, and turn on advanced
for only the ones who could handle it.
