Yes, it would be a step in the good direction.
I manage atleast two mail accounts for myself. (A business account and a
personal account).
I used to have one account for mailing lists etc too but now I recieve mailing
lists on my personal account(atif@developer.ch).

So, with IMP I have to keep two windows open and its kind of confusing.
I am very eager to see a version that can manage multiple accounts.

Both Netscape and Mozilla have possibilities to setup multiple mail accounts.
but Netscape something that I dont like about Netscape mail are: (just in case
if the developers are thinking in moving in that direction)

1. There is only 1 from address which goes to all outgoing mails.
So all mails I send to *@lists.horde.org from my NetscapeMail client are
rejected because my "From" address is different than that one I have used to
    subscribe to the mailing lists.
I think the from address should be attached to MailAccount, so If I am using
MailAccountA, it should send the From header that I have set in MailAccountA's
    preferences.
It would make sense to also have global preference which should be used in
absense of a
    MailAccount specific preference

2. Sent mail should go in the MailAccount's Sent folder.
I have two accounts set and if I send an email, a copy ends up in only one
Sent folder
And that the wrong server's sent folder :(

3. filters should be mail account specific too. (Dont just filter all incoming
mails )

4. Alexandre suggested to have one primary account for authentification.
Perhaps just have an internal database for authentification and each account
has its own
user/pass pair. (For example, if the primary account server is down, you
cannot read any email)

just my 4 dollars.
