Missed the problem:
Note "MENU.INC" vs. "MAIN.INC"

----- snip from patch -----
can't find file to patch at input line 4964
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
The text leading up to this was:
--------------------------
|diff -uNr imp-2.2.3/templates/menu/menu.inc
imp-2.2.4/templates/menu/menu.inc
|--- imp-2.2.3/templates/menu/menu.inc Wed Sep 13 12:08:23 2000
|+++ imp-2.2.4/templates/menu/menu.inc  Tue Nov  7 13:23:23 2000
--------------------------

"imp/templates/menu/menu.inc" from above doesn't exist in this directory.
If you specify the "imp/templates/menu/main.inc" file, the patch process
continues. You then must rename "main.inc" to "menu.inc" for it to work
correctly.

Hope this clarification helps!!

I can't find this at all... I've looked in CVS, in the imp-2.2.4 tarball,
and in the gzip'ped patch-imp file, and they all have "menu.inc" with no
trailing dot. Can you reproduce this, or is it possible that it was
something you did manually with that file that caused it to be renamed on
your system?
