error in var/spool

Dear all,
   I'm using Apache 1.3.12, mysql, imp 2.2.3, IMAP running on Linux 6.1.
Currently I just discovered a problem with my email account's setting. It 
appears that I am the only user who could save my mail drafts into drafts 
folder as well as sent-mail folders. When other users attempted to save 
their mail, they get the following error:

   Message sent successfully, ERROR: not saved to /var/spool/mailsent-   
mail  |  5 new, 0 recent
or
   save message failed:
   Append failed: Can't append -file 'var/spool/maildrafts' is not in
   valid mailbox format.

Does this imply that I have to create sent-mail folder and drafts folder in 
different home directory for each user and not to direct the file path to 
the same directory?
Anyone who could enlighten me? TQ.
