[imp] Intallation Problem

PHP4 is (for the most part) backwards compatable with PHP3 scripts. I'm
jumping in at this part in the thread so I'm missing a bit of conversation,
but as far as IMP is concerned, it shouldn't matter whether you use
PHP-3.0.18 or PHP-4.0.3pl1/PHP-4.0.4pl1-5 ... PHP4 simply gives you a better
platform for scalability and future upgrades to the Horde/IMP project.

As noted below, PHP-4.0.2 is no good.

I'm no help otherwise :-)

Why php4? I am running php-3.0.18 w/ imap-2000c and am having problems
with login. Do you think my use of 3.0.18 is the cause? How can
IMP use php4, when most of the scripts are written in php3 ?? (or
at least suffixed by .php3).

My sessions are working fine. Login is the problem;
imapd receives login "^A" while I am passing "stein"
through to IMP on the login page.
