Do you have a default config? I was having lots of problems and started with
a default conf.php and slowly went through changing options.  that may help
also as a debug method. (unless you already have a default one :) )

Well, can you put some debug code in to see where things are dieing
(spelling
that word just always looks wrong)? If you view source on the blank page, is
there anything? Etc...
