Ah, OK, ports collection.  Well, it's been a long time since I've used
FreeBSD and compiled a port, let alone one with as many knobs and switches
as PHP has.  I think your best bets are

(a) install packages rather than compiling the port yourself,
(b) compile it from source, or
(c):
