Our userbase is technically about 20,000 students, staff, and faculty. A
lot of students use webmail, but most of the faculty and staff have
Exchange accounts.
We run IMP on a 2x400MHz, 1GB RAM E250. All our connections are over SSL,
which is what really is slowing us down right now. This machine can
handle about 100-150 simultaneous connections before it gets really slow.
We're looking at installing a crypto card to take the SSL load off of the
processors and let us scale to more concurrent users.
