Outgoing Email + domains

I host several domains on a single machine, and I would like to give
my users the ability to check mail through the web, by using IMP.
However, before I install IMP I have one issue to figure out: domain
names on outgoing email.

Each and every domain has a sub domain called 'mail.<domain>.<tld>'
(ej: mail.yeehaw.net). I can install a single instance of IMP and
direct all those domains to that install, and each user can log in just
fine and check mail, right?

So, what happens with *OUTGOING* mail? Would it have the system's
domain on it? Considering that my users will be logging in by using
their own domain (and others will cheat by using the system's domain,
I'm sure), I really don't care about that part. If they want to use
whatever domain (hosted on that machine) log IN as, that's fine.
However, I would like for outgoing mail to have the proper domain name
tacked on it.

As I go through IMP's source, I don't see any easy way of doing
this, so I'm resorting to using sendmail's 'genericstable' function...at
least, I plan to. My question however is, has anyone else dealt with
this in any way, shape or form? Is there any other way of dealing with
this?
