Why?  You can configure Apache so that the version of PHP you prefer (3 or
4) can parse the extensions you prefer (.php or .php3), mix and match, do
what you like.  IMP 2.2.x supports PHP 3 or 4.  So I guess I'm not sure
what you're lacking?
