sendmail problem

I have configured Horde and Imp an my linux-box with the following
configuration:

Horde: 1.2.3
IMP: 2.2.4
PHP: 3.0.17
MySQL: 3.20.32a
Apache: 1.3.9

I'm using a pop3 mail-server

My problem: The sendmail function doesn't work. After pressing the send mail
button the systems idles and never returns. But the sendmail is configured
correctly (as described in docs/install). So what is the problem ? I found
no hint in any of my log files.

Can anybody help me ?
