We use wapmail (http://e-sphere.net/), this basic set of php scripts allows
to read the inbox (and only the inbox...) of an IMAP account. This
mailclient offers very limited features, but to be honest this is already
too much for a WAP terminal (just try to write down a 40 cars message using
the 12 keys-keyboard of your cellular)...

In order to make it a decent wapmail client, you will have to customize
heavilly the message sizes (in order to fit into the 1340 car limit), and
implement some mime decoding for the subject, date, and sender (IMP code is
a good source for such processing...). For further information go to their

Together with IMP these are my two favourite mail clients...
