Changing the default recipient host

I'm running IMP 2.3.7-cvs on one box, and the main mailserver on a
different box. When someone composes a message and just enters a user
name i want it sent to user@mail.server instead of user@localhost. Is
there a way or an option in IMP that does this w/o hacking the PHP
files?
