[imp] RedHat 6.2 - RPM INSTALL - IMP Timeout

Most probably it's caused by not finding hostnames in DNS.

Try adding "127.0.0.1 localhost" to /etc/hosts or whatever ip/hostnames you
are connecting to imapd from.

I also start smtpd via tcpserver using the following flags:
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -H -R -l0 -t1 -x/etc/tcp.smtp.cdb
