Well, such a check is almost nonsense. The user part can contain almost
any character combination, and the domain part is also about random (but
not as random as the user part). How do you want to check the domain?
It contain anywhere starting from two letters (think: foo@tv) to dunno
what (think: -This/is/my/name.@some----server@foo.with.do---mains.museum).

Why duplicate the work? There's already a check in, which informs you
after send has been pushed. And Javascript, well, I suppose quite some
have it disabled after the Nimda worm...

Since there will be automatic name/address expanding somehow somewhen it must
be possible to put anything in there not matching this format. And what if you
want to send a mail to a person with a local account?

There should be such a message. Not a JavaScript warning but a status message.
On the other hand it makes sense to me to have a JS popup.

Then there is something wrong with your installation. Do you have the latest
pear from cvs?
