[imp] Compiling PHP and other problems

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely have to look into this some more. I'm
so new at this, it scares even me. :^)
BTW, the sun, moon, and stars must have all fallen into alignment...I
finally built and installed all the IMP and Horde prereq's. Now, if only I
can remember the way I did it??? No biggy for now, I'll just bask in it's
"working-ness".

While building your own RPMs from scratch is much more difficult than
building your applications from the source because of added stuff of
packaging, working from an existing source RPM should be much easier as
you will already have a working spec file (instruction data on how to
build the package) that you can work from.

RPM itself. You will need a bunch of dev packages of course, but other
than that and what you're already using, RPM has the stuff you need. :)
You may want to check out <http://www.rpm.org/>. Might find some good
reading stuff depending on how far you want to go. :)
