That's most likely a PHP problem.  Try updating your PHP installation.

What happens if you create other folders with imp?

No. You have the choice to either use deleted flag or move deleted messages to 
trash. If you would combine these methods you would have two copies of the 
deleted message. Not very efficient for messages you actually want to get rid 
of. ;-)

Okay, I missed the database pref settings part. I added it and the option menu 
came okay. Now, the problem is: if I change any settings and save the settings, 
it does not save it at all. The changes are simply discarded.

What could be the problem? I am lost.
