Too many IMAP connections

Hi All,
 I'm a little bit at a loss for what's happening but I'll try to explain.
When using IMP to check mail I end up having around 100+ IMAP connections
if I click on the folder button, which eventually slows down the server
to a crawl. If I use an IMAP client such as Netscape I have no problem at
all and only see a couple of IMAP connections in netstat.
 My setup is pretty simple:
 RedHat 7.1
 cyrus-imapd-2.0.9-3
 cyrus-sasl-1.5.24-17
 Horde/IMP/Turba/Kronolith checked out from CVS 3days ago.
Does anyone have any thought on why this may be happening?
