IMPs behaiour

I just downloaded a CVS of IMP+HORDE and I find that when I change my
preferences what IMP does is try to insert a new value, and when the database
server gives an error, does an update.
Shouldn't it have a session variable, or something when the user is in the
options that says if a field is in the prefs database or it's using the
default?

Saludos... :-)

How would you make this work? Sessions go away when the user logs out/closes
their session...
