Works fine here with moz 0.9.6+ (some cvs snap from a few days ago).

Nevermind...something must just not have registered yet...when I wrote
the message, even with the prefs.php from_addr setting locked, the
from field still showed up in the identities ui. Now it's gone. I
must have needed to log out or something...
